Sulitjelmafjellene

Show map

The range between Junkerdalen and Sulitjelma and the range around Suitjelma long have been overshadowed by the better known ranges of Saltfjellet. That's unjustified. The Sulitjelma area has much to offer trekkers: peaks over 1900 metres, majestic glaciers, open plateaus and broad valleys. Lake Balvatnet lies in the middle of the area, surrounded by mountains, and to the south, luxuriant, wooded valleys, such as Storengdalen and Junkerdalen, cut the landscape. The terrain slopes down to the west toward Saltdalen and Saltdalsfjorden.
